Ian has been a professional artist for over twenty years. Initially working as an illustrator he now paints solely for exhibitions and commissions. His current series of paintings depict houses and homes.

I was trained at art college and have always enjoyed painting. In my work i like to experiment with texture and light, i love the interplay of metalic with flat textured paint.

Thirty five years ago ( in my late twenties ) I painted one large photo realist painting, entered it for a ' John Moors International biennial exhibition ', where it was accepted, and shown along side some of the illustrious names of the time. ( and still are ! ) I then 'did other things' until just recently. having started, at long last to paint full time, so, my second painting is the Racehorse shown here. I have had no formal training. ( is ' training ' not what circus animals are made to do ? ) .... Am mainly interested in equestrian subjects, and personal interpretations of landscapes, birds, people, and anything I find visually stimulating. .... enjoy the pictures .... more to follow .... C M
