Shadow Box Making
COST £7.50 - this covers a choice of a glass fronted square or rectangular box in a choice of finishes and all the materials you need to complete the box, like background papers and contents e.g.keys, watch parts, doll parts, lace, etc. *
Paints, sandpaper and adhesives will be supplied to use during the workshop.
The aim of this workshop it to show you how to alter the box finishes (if required), how to prepare and apply backgrounds (building collaged backgrounds, distressing/tinting papers etc) and how to arrange, alter and attach your chosen objects.
Please feel free to bring along memorabilia, photographs and objects that are meaningful to you that you would like to include for backgrounds and/or contents (however, as the alteration and attachment will permanently affect and alter these, it is advisable to use photocopies and duplicate prints of photographs and to use objects that you are prepared to alter, even if it is only by the application of glue…).
(*Extra boxes and contents, plus higher value vintage accessories (e.g. hat pins, lace bobbins) will also be available to purchase at extra cost; )
